Akaki Kokoro Meditation

I stumbled on Aikido when I was 18.

It was exactly what I needed and it was life transforming.

This is one of the first meditations I learned as a part of my training. I still use it and teach it clients and students.

Simply sit down, take 5 settling breaths into your hara (dan tian) which is located just below your belly button and in the center of the body. Then, breathe in repeating the first line to yourself. Allow your breath to softly exhale. Breath in each line 3 x times.

Akaki Kokoro Meditation

One is not by nature evil. We are pure in Heart and in our natural being Divine. When one brings the four natural conditions of the heart together in harmony they bring forth.

Akaki Kokoro - A heart bright and full of the light like the sun.

Kiyoki Kokoro - A heart as clear as a pure white jewel.

Naoki Kokoro - A heart like a child without the desire to deceive.

Tadashiki Kokoro - A heart which seeks justice.

Have a beautiful day. May your heart (kokoro) be at ease.
