Nettle Tea-Straight Up or With Flare

Nettles are very nourishing and blood building. They relieve toxins, hot flashes, allergies and anemia--a wonderful addition to the diet.

I brew up a large pan of nettle tea in the spring and leave it out on the counter to drink at room temperature. If you find the flavor of nettles a little boring try adding in a sprig of peppermint or lemon balm. Clara likes it mixed with blueberry tea.

Ingredients

2 T. dried nettle leaf
1 cup water

Instructions

Just making a cup of tea.
Boil water.
Place nettle leaf in a tea ball or in muslin tea bag.
Steep for 2-3 minutes for a lighter tea. 6-10 minutes for stronger infusion.
