Nettles are very nourishing and blood building. They relieve toxins, hot flashes, allergies and anemia–a wonderful addition to the diet.
I brew up a large pan of nettle tea in the spring and leave it out on the counter to drink at room temperature. If you find the flavor of nettles a little boring try adding in a sprig of peppermint or lemon balm. My daughter, Clara, loves it it mixed with blueberry tea.
Just making a cup of tea. Boil water. Place nettle leaf in a tea ball or in muslin tea bag. Steep for 2-3 minutes for a lighter tea. 6-10 minutes for stronger infusion.
Add the leftover leaves your compost or garden.
