This is one of my popular local classes that I haven’t offered for several years. This time, however, it’s live online.
Dealing with a weakened digestive system will affect all of us at some point in our lives. As the basis of all health and healing in our body, the digestive system is one of great importance and having some simple knowledge of how to keep your digestion healthy and strong to treating issues as soon as they arise are essential in overall well being.
Whether you were born with a weak digestive system or you have lost digestive vibrancy due to illness or injury, this is the class for you.
My intent with class is to introduce participants to some of the simplest yet most profound steps you can learn to help keep your digestion strong or begin treating yourself, your family or your clients — this is an excellent refresher for my Amma Therapy and Holistic Nutrition alumni.
We will begin with a brief overview of the digestive system from both a Western and Eastern perspective. Our focus will then shift to understanding patterns of disharmony according to Asian medicine (Chinese medicine) and the steps you can take to improve your digestive health for both acute and chronic patterns.
The class focuses on whole food recommendations, herbs, nutritional habits and specific medicinal recipes.
No prior knowledge of Asian medicine (Chinese Medicine) is necessary.
Includes detailed companion booklet and medicinal recipes.
This class will be recorded and registrants will have access to the video.
Thursday, March 14th 5:30pm – 8pm (MST)
I’ve had a number of questions about my upcoming class – so time for some answers.
Q: Do you talk about specific disease or health conditions that impact digestion like cancer treatment?
A: Yes, though I don’t have enough time to go into each pathology in depth, I make sure to give basics especially in regards to those in cancer treatment. I try to answer questions during the class which means there can be a varied number of different digestive patterns that we might end up discussing and following.
Q: What if I can’t attend online?
A: No problem, for those registered you will have access to the video recording and the class ebook for Delicate Digestion for your use. I ask that you keep it for your personal use – I intend to have the ebook available online for download by late spring for the general public.
Q: If I take the class but find I need more information, can I follow up with you?
A: Of course! If you are in Boise I recommend you come in for Amma therapy – the form of bodywork I practice. If you don’t live here we can schedule an online consultation. Though I can’t palpate or feel pulses to help assessment there is a lot that I can do with an online appointment. In person appointments for Amma therapy at Pulse Holistic Health can be booked here. For online consultations via Zoom or other video platform contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule as we often have to work with time differences.
Q: Do you recommend herbs and supplements?
A: Yes and no. In this class I go over a few classical simple formulas that are common for of the general digestive concerns – things to consider having in your cupboard. Personalized recommendations require me to make an individualized assessment based on a person’s patterns, history and current conditions. That’s an ethical line I won’t step over. There is no one right diet for all and no perfect formula for everyone. I have to meet people where they are at in their state of health. I recognize a hierarchy in health and wellness and ideally try to treat with diet as primary.
Here’s to your health!
